The Burlington Fire Department department was established in 1951 and has a current volunteer membership of 25 firefighters and 8 junior firefighters ranging in age from 15 to 18 years. Burlington Fire Department responds to approximately 50-70 calls per year ranging from wildland to structure fires and have 9 pieces of apparatus; 3 wildland trucks; 2 tenders; 2 engines; 1 command vehicle; and 1 rescue truck.

Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Monday each month at 7:30pm at the Fire Station.

The Burlington 1st Responders is a State-Certified Quick Response Unit made up of Certified Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Medical Responders that respond to emergencies in Burlington and surrounding areas to provide Basic Life Support to stabilize the patient and await Community Ambulance for transport to a medical facility.

Burlington Fire Department & Burlington 1st Responders are based solely on a volunteer basis and are always seeking new members. Feel free to stop in and meet them to see what they are all about. Applications are available at the Fire Station on meeting nights.
